Established in 1934 amidst the challenges of the Great Depression, Purax Feather Holdings has maintained its roots as a locally operated business. For over 50 years, it has been proudly owned by the Katsios family, starting with Bill, who began his journey accompanying his father to work at the factory while attending school. During school holidays, he was offered a part-time position by the then-owner, Ray Boxer.

Throughout decades of dedication, Bill solidified his place in the company, eventually becoming a co-owner and later assuming full ownership. After steering the business for four decades, he entrusted its legacy to his children, ensuring Purax's continuity.

Under the Puradown brand, Purax Feather Holdings has been supplying retailers both nationally and internationally with feather and down products for nearly 90 years. Since the mid-90s, the product range has expanded to include wool quilts, underblankets, and pillows.

At its core, the company remains committed to producing high-quality, durable products that are ethically sourced and proudly Australian made.
